Bio:
Constanza Safatle
Founder & CEO, Newbornlander
Constanza Safatle is a mission-driven entrepreneur and social-impact leader dedicated to empowering newcomer and refugee women in Canada. Originally a commercial lawyer in Chile, Constanza moved to Newfoundland and Labrador and had to reinvent her professional path. What began as sewing baby accessories for her own children evolved into Newbornlander, a nationally recognized, Canadian-made baby brand — and the first private-sector settlement-employment program for refugee women in the province.
Her work sits at the intersection of economic development, inclusive hiring, sustainable manufacturing, and women’s empowerment, and she collaborates with government, industry, and community partners to create pathways for newcomers to thrive.
Constanza’s leadership and impact have been recognized nationally:
• Changemaker of the Year 2025 (NLOWE)
• 10 Most Influential Hispanics in Canada 2025
• 25 Most Powerful Women in Atlantic Canada
• G20 YEA Canadian Delegate (2024–2025)
• Canada Post Tales of Triumph National Winner
• Featured on Dragon’s Den, securing support from one of the Dragons
Through Newbornlander, she continues to create meaningful employment opportunities, integrate newcomer women into society, and inspire leadership that blends purpose, resilience, and impact.
